Goodbye Jack

Transparent Watercolor
22x17.75 cm
(9"x7")

I started this blog as a way to motivate me to start drawing and painting again after many years of not. It hasn't worked so well.

However, a couple of days ago I ran across a new blog by a long time favorite blogger of mine Karin Jurick. Her regular blog is: http://karinjurick.blogspot.com/

Her idea of a new blog is to post a photo and allow people to interpret it as they wish in the media they prefer and she will post the results on her blog.
"A weekly challenge for any artist who would like to join in."

Voila! I painted today!

Thank you, Karin.

Here is the link to her new blog: http://differentstrokesfromdifferentfolks.blogspot.com/
and the above is my response to her first challenge.

I don't know why you stopped painting, but I'm glad you started again because you are good, girl! Wait..are you a girl? Well, any way, I looked through your Picassa album and saw the interesting compositions, the figure studies, the colors, and the way you paint light....well, you need to keep on painting if it feels right to you. Good luck!

I saw this on Different Strokes, and I just love both the masterful watercolor looseness, and the way you thought of symbolizing Jack's departure.

What a beautiful statement!

I found you at Different Strokes too, and was so impressed by the composition and symbolism that I had to see what else you do - and WOW!. Love what I see for your current work, and your "paintings from a previous life" are stunning. I'm adding you to my blogroll and look forward to seeing you often!

I found you on "different strokes".
I also love to work in watercolor but don't know how to do the man reading the newspaper.:-)
The way that you did Jack was wonderful. He was on the move.
